Validating columns

As we all known, a valid email address is composed of three parts, the user name, the "at symbol" (@), and the domain.

Sometimes, you just allow others to enter only the email address format text into a specific column of worksheet. Validate only email addresses can be entered in a column with Data Validation function Validate only email addresses can be entered in a column with an excellent feature Kutools for Excel's Validate Email Address utility can help you to set the data validation that only Email Address can be entered into a range of cells with only one click. In Excel, the powerful feature Data Validation can help you to quickly validate only email addresses entered in a column of cells, please do as follows: 1.

This can be done through a list’s validation settings.

This recently came up for me when the requirement was that for a contact at least an email address OR a phone number would be required.

Ex: 91-********** I have created a new item in the phone number field I have given the number as “ 91-**********” So the number is stored to Share Point list. I have taken one column of “date and Time’ datatype in Share Point custom List and give the list name as “Start Date”, see the above screenshot.

In the column validation, I have added the formula “=Start Date TODAY()”//Start date should be more than today In the user message, I have added the message “Start date should be greater than today”.

Here I want to put the validation that when the user enters the number then the length of number should be more than 5.

So I have created a “Student RN” column which data type is a single line of text.

In this Share Point column validation example, we will discuss how to add validations to Share Point column and where we add the column validation rule in Share Point 2013/2016/Online.When user goes to Add the new item to list and enter a valid email id in the email id field it will save the data to the list. The User message will display if the Email Id is invalid. However, the formulas I demonstrated automatically make those required fields since they don’t allow blank fields to pass validation. To adjust those formulas just add an OR statement around the AND with an ISBLANK function.
